KhanLex advised European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on its USD 65 million loan facility to Senj Sant LLC (presently, Moncement Building Materials LLC). The loan will enable Senj Sant, owned by Monpolymet Group, to continue financing the construction and commissioning of a technologically advanced and environmentally friendly dry process cement plant in Mongolia.
This senior loan follows an earlier US$ 20 million equity investment by EBRD for a stake in Senj Sant agreed in May 2013.
“We’re happy to continue advising EBRD, as a local counsel, on this complex, yet highly important transaction” said Enkhbat Batsukh, who led the KhanLex team on this deal. “We’re also proud to have been part of a part which will result in the first ever greenfield cement plant in Mongolia“. Enkhbat was supported by Batjargal Gombosuren and Uchralbayar Iderkhangai ,colleagues and partners at KhanLex, on this transaction.
