KhanLex advised its long-standing client, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, on a USD 16 million senior loan facility to Gobi Cashmere.
The EBRD loan of USD 16 million will finance Gobi Cashmere’s expansion of retail and production. In particular, the EBRD financing will support the opening of a new flagship store of Gobi Cashmere in the Ulaanbaatar Galleria, a new shopping mall in the heart of Mongolia’s capital.
“We’re happy to support our long-standing EBRD in its further private sector operations in Mongolia” said Enkhbat Batsukh, partner, who led the KhanLex team on this deal. “We’re also pleased to have been able to support Gobi Cashmere, which will boost competitiveness of the Mongolia’s crucial export commodity – cashmere garments.” Enkhbat was supported by Batjargal Gombosuren, colleague and partner at KhanLex, on this transaction.
