KhanLex advises Overseas Private Investment Corporation on financing of KFC and Pizza Hut franchise in Mongolia

KhanLex advised Overseas Private Investment Corporation on its USD $7.25 million loan facility to Tavan Bogd Foods LLC and its subsidiary Tavan Bogd Foods Pizza LLC.

The loan will finance the borrowers’ establishment, construction, and start-up operation of KFC and Pizza Hut restaurants in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia under franchise agreements. The US sponsor is significant U.S. business involvement by Yum! Brands, Inc.

N.B.: Enkhbat Batsukh led the above work while being a partner with the merged firm “MDS KhanLex LLP” (now de-merged). In 2018, Enkhbat Batsukh together with Uchralbayar Iderkhangai, another former lawyer of “MDS KhanLex” who advised on the above transaction, have relaunched their pre-merger firm “KhanLex Partners LLP”.
