KhanLex advised European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on a Full Recourse Direct Risk Sharing Facility with Khan Bank of Mongolia. The Facility’s primary objective is the provision of long-term financing to Mongolian MSMEs. The Facility is expected to further enhance the competition in the Mongolian banking sector by enabling Khan Bank to service the lending needs of large and medium-sized private clients in longer-term loans.
“EBRD is one of the largest institutional investors in Mongolia, if not the largest. We are glad to be able to continue advising EBRD, as a local counsel, on its operations in Mongolia.” said Enkhbat Batsukh, partner, who led the KhanLex team on this deal. “We’re also pleased that the counterparty to the transaction was Khan Bank, one of the largest banks of Mongolia “. Enkhbat was supported by senior associate Uchralbayar Iderkhangai on this transaction.
Bird & Bird acted as the lead international counsel of EBRD.
