KhanLex advises “Mongol Em Impex Concern” (MEIC) and its parent, Bishrelt Group, on construction and operation of a pharmaceutical plant in Mongolia in the form of a joint venture with South Korea’s Dong-A ST Co. The plant would be the first ever GMP-compliant pharmaceutical manufacturing factory in Mongolia.
MEIC is a leading pharmaceutical distributor in Mongolia with the largest network of pharmacies, warehouses and pharm markets across the country and has signed a comprehensive business alliance contract with Dong-A ST Co. of South Korea.
“We’re happy to have assisted MEIC and its parent, Bishrelt Group, on this transaction” said Enkhbat Batsukh, a KhanLex partner, who led the KhanLex team on this deal. “The transaction was significant in that it involved a large-scale cross-border transfer and operation of intellectual property. We’re also pleased to have been able to support Dong-A, producer of well-known Bacchus energy drinks, in its continued expansion in Mongolia“.
N.B.: Enkhbat Batsukh led the above work while being a partner with the merged firm “MDS KhanLex LLP” (now de-merged). In 2018, Enkhbat Batsukh together with Uchralbayar Iderkhangai, another former lawyer of “MDS KhanLex” who advised on the above transaction, have relaunched their pre-merger firm “KhanLex Partners LLP.
